What Hopeless said about Global Warming (Warning: Don’t take it seriously)

Weeks ago, I received a message from my former student (sekarang lagi ngejar ilmu di negara bekas penjajah kita ) in which she suggest me to watch a new “what she called phenomenal” movie. The movie titled “The Age of Stupid” tells a story about one of survivor on the racked planet (earth of course). The man trapped on a dying planet, caused by massive pollution that had created chaos and kill all human being. The man in his curiosity tries to know why this thing happens. He then finds lots of videos about some people, who already foreseen the cataclysmic events that we will encounter human race, if we don’t stop things that we are doing. And from there, the story goes back to present documentaries about what is going to happen in the future if we now don’t stop to underestimate the danger of green house effect. I think the movie is a worth watched one, because I think with their creative storytelling, I found the movie is very appealing, since it mix the fiction of future extinction of human being (a favorite theme of many movie goers), and the real story documentary about what is going on now, and maybe it will makes the movie even scarier than “Psycho”.

Oh, Really?? Hmmm, let me take it from Juan’s point of view. For your information: I don’t care about Global Warming!!! Why should I? You know, in fact, there is no problem of Global Warming! The problem is something that has at least one solution. And since there is no solution for it, so there is no problem with Global Warming. And because no solution, no way out, no plan A or B, no one cares about it, let just now face it as certain extinction. Hooray!!! Finally, a virus infected earth skin for so long, will finally removed! It is Nietzsche who wrote it: In the skin of the earth, there is a chronic disease; Human Being. Do you realize it or not? We are a virus!! And Global Warming helps to cure it! It cleanses all DIRTY, GRIMY, GERMY, NASTY things we have done on earth.

It is no problem to be extinct by Global Warming. Look at the positive side. It will be better than extinction caused by a deadly virus, comet collision (like in “Deep Impact” or in stupid movie called “Armageddon”), solar storm (of “2012”) or alien invasion (like miserable story of “War of the World”, “Independence Day” or “The Day When Earth Stood Still”). Think about this, if we are perished by Global Warming, at least it is a slow process. Family can have a time to say goodbye, and more importantly, WE HAVE A TIME TO REGRET!!!! Compare if we are gone by comet collision, all we can do is to said a short pray, see the comets come, “oh, God, there they come”, then BAAAAAANG!!! Then we are nothing but “dust in the wind”. Do you like that way to die? Extra consideration why Global Warming is good way to die: at least we give our Children (or Children’s children) some time to curse us. “OH WHAT A STUPID ANCESTOR WE HAVE, WHAT A SELFISH (GENERATION-ISH) THEY ARE!!!”Then, consider this, we have caused many extinction. Global Warming is a good way for Dodo, Javanese Tiger, and other species to get some revenge. If they are in heaven, they will look in gladness down to earth and saying; “ha-ha, look at those stupid human, die because they are to greed and kill us! Human Sucks!! Earth Rules!!!” If we get extinct by comet collision, Dodo will said; “ooooh!! It ain’t cool!!! My far cousin Cassowary is also dead!!!”

Finally, Global Warming is good because; suicide, stupider, but better than homicide. It is better to kill yourself than to kill other. We punish killer, but self-killer punish themselves. If we died because other caused, hmm, who’s to blame??? Oh, that d$%^&* virus, comets or aliens. How about Global Warming??? Who’s to blame?? YOU SIMPLY LOOK AT THE MIRROR!!
